Circle Gateway Adds EURC and cirBTC Unified Crosschain Balances, Waives Fees on Arc
EURC balances work across six chains and cirBTC across Arc and Ethereum, with Nanopayments support for both. Outside Arc, Gateway charges 1 basis point for the new assets versus 0.5 bp for USDC.

Circle has extended Circle Gateway to support unified crosschain balances in EURC and Circle Wrapped Bitcoin (cirBTC), alongside USDC, the company said on 23 October 2026. Developers and businesses can hold one balance per asset and draw on it across supported chains, with crosschain access in under 500 milliseconds after a deposit finalises, according to Circle. EURC is supported on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana and World Chain, and cirBTC on Arc and Ethereum. Gateway fees for both new assets are waived on Arc at launch. Elsewhere they are 1 basis point, compared with an unchanged 0.5 bp for USDC.
Circle's Nanopayments service, which runs on Gateway, now also supports cirBTC and EURC on each asset's supported chains. Circle says Gateway has processed more than $10 billion in volume, based on its internal data as of 23 October.
From pre-positioned inventory to one balance
Gateway's model is aimed at teams that keep stablecoin inventory on several chains to meet withdrawals, payouts or trades. With a unified balance, a deposit becomes available for use on any supported chain once it finalises. Because Circle issues both cirBTC and EURC, Gateway can mint each asset natively on the destination chain rather than relying on a third-party liquidity provider or a wrapped token from another entity.
Circle gives a payments example. A PSP making euro payouts on both Base and Solana could fund both from one EURC balance instead of forecasting and funding separate pools. It names fillers, solvers, market makers, exchanges, PSPs and custodians as target users. Wallet builders can use Gateway APIs and its Unified Balance Kit to show users one EURC or cirBTC balance rather than one per chain.
The expansion uses the same Gateway contracts, APIs and SDKs as USDC, and Circle says USDC requests and behaviour are unchanged.
Pricing points to Arc
The fee table is the clearest signal of intent. Outside Arc, moving EURC or cirBTC through Gateway costs twice the USDC rate. On Arc, Circle's own chain, those fees are waived at launch. Circle says the waiver gives teams "another reason to explore cirBTC and EURC liquidity flows on Arc". cirBTC is supported on only two chains, and Arc is one of them, which ties Circle's new BTC-denominated token closely to its own network.
For euro flows, the change matters more broadly. EURC is supported on six chains, so euro-denominated inventory gets the same treatment that made Gateway useful for dollar liquidity. That gives non-USD payouts a single-balance option across Base, Solana and others. Earlier, Circle extended its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) to EURC and cirBTC. Gateway now adds pooled balances on top of those point-to-point transfers.
Agentic and pay-per-use payments
Nanopayments aggregates payments off-chain and settles them on-chain in batches. This removes per-payment gas charges, although batch settlement still incurs gas. With EURC and cirBTC support, developers can price data, compute or API calls in euros or bitcoin terms as well as dollars. Circle frames this as infrastructure for agents making many small purchases.
Circle's speed and fee figures are its own estimates and are not guaranteed. The company notes that eligibility and geographic restrictions apply to Gateway.
