The Singapore stablecoin issuer says the partnership extends its card issuing infrastructure beyond Asia for fintechs, wallets and token service providers. Programmes remain subject to regulatory, compliance and Visa requirements.

StraitsX, the Singapore-licensed issuer of the XSGD and XUSD stablecoins, announced on October 15, 2026 a partnership with Visa to expand its card issuing capabilities to more than 100 markets.
The arrangement lets StraitsX support eligible card issuance programmes globally, subject to applicable regulatory, compliance and Visa requirements, the company said. It is aimed at businesses building cards, not a consumer card launch: the target customers are fintechs, Digital Payment Token (DPT) service providers, wallets and other businesses that want card programmes connecting stablecoin balances with Visa's acceptance network.
How the programmes work
In the StraitsX model, stablecoins support the underlying funding and settlement flow while cardholders transact with ordinary Visa credentials. StraitsX said it had reached annualised card gross transaction value of more than US$6 billion across its stablecoin-backed card programmes in Asia.
"Stablecoin-backed cards have become one of the clearest examples of how stablecoins can move beyond settlement and into everyday payments," said Tianwei Liu, CEO and co-founder of StraitsX.
Rubail Birwadker, Visa's Global Head of Growth Products & Partnerships, said the work with StraitsX is "unlocking more ways to use stablecoins for real-world payment flows."
What is not announced
StraitsX did not name specific markets, issuing partners or launch dates for new programmes. Each programme still has to meet local regulatory and Visa requirements before it goes live.
